Child Sponsorship
Sponsoring a child is one of the easiest ways to become involved with Operation iDream. Operation iDream’s ministry provides support to children beyond its current student population. More than 750 children in the surrounding community and children struggling with medical conditions in Ndola’s children’s hospital have received direct and tangible support with food, clothing, shelter, medical care coverage, and education. A monthly donation of just $25-50 can help a highly vulnerable child living in poverty to access the resources and support services he or she needs to thrive. Child sponsorship is a personalized way to connect with a child and make an immediate positive impact on the child, their family, and the community as a whole.
What are some of the positive impacts tied to child sponsorship?
- There has been a significant and noticeable reduction in teen pregnancies and early marriages.
- Teen boys are provided a structured and challenging learning environment with the goal of improving their future earning potential, which has reduced alcohol and drug use in surrounding areas.
- Hundreds of families have been stabilized with reasonable access to quality education and medical care in their own community.
- Impoverished children previously too hungry to focus on learning have become bright and engaged students with the introduction of the school lunch program.
- The message of the Gospel is spreading rapidly throughout the community, as families see staff, sponsors, and volunteers reaching out with genuine love and care.
- Children in the community and iDream students receive routine deworming and critical malaria treatment, significantly reducing severe child illnesses and child mortality in the community.
